Today we drove the upper loop of the park which includes the Mammoth Hot Springs, the Roosevelt Arch, and leaving Wyoming and entering Montana.
Dave bought a national park book with recommendations of the top 10 things to do at each park. One of the suggestions was to climb Mt. Washburn. It was very windy and steep so we didn’t make it to the top with our whole crew, but this is a beautiful view from part way up.

More hikes and more waterfalls
We thought these antlers were a photo op along our hike. They were huge and stunning. Then a park ranger came along and asked if they were ours. When we told him no, he said we could finish taking pictures then he had to take them away. He said to protect the ecosystem everything needs to be left where it was found. He told us there are huge fines and problems for people that moved and/or removed items from the park.

Liam had a meltdown during this time so he and I rested in the car while Dave and the big kids explored the basin.
Theodore Roosevelt was such a promoter in establishing the national parks. This arch is in his honor.
